Homecoming Queen is a layered, roots-infused reflection on the pressure women face to fit ideals they never chose, caught between the desire to belong and the cost of losing oneself in the process. It’s a slow-burn portrait of internalized expectations and the quiet unraveling that comes from living a life that isn’t yours.

Fork & Spoon is my take on a classic country waltz—playful but full of heartache. I wanted to capture the feeling of a love that once fit together perfectly but now feels mismatched, using simple metaphors to tell that story. It’s lonesome and tender, with a little wink of humor, like something you might hear on a dusty jukebox while slow dancing through the blues.

Honeybee is a song about resilience, forgiveness, and the messy beauty of love. It carries a fiery spirit—defiant in the face of hardship, yet tender enough to welcome someone back with open arms. At its core, it’s about running your own race, holding fast to love, and finding strength in the struggle.

Canyon Ridge is a raw, rock-driven song that confronts struggle, loss, and the weight of circumstance. It grapples with addiction, suicide, and the forces that shape our lives, while also reaching for empathy and understanding. At its core, it’s about seeing the hidden battles people carry and finding compassion in an unforgiving world.

Nothing Ever Keeps is a meditation on impermanence—the way seasons shift, love changes, and life itself moves in cycles. Written through the lens of grief, the song reaches toward acceptance, recognizing that nothing stays the same, yet there’s a quiet beauty in the fleeting nature of it all.

On her latest single, “Caroline,” Emily McLoud combines a timeless feel with thought-provoking lyrics, offering a unique musical experience that's both foot-stomping and contemplative. “Caroline” is a testament to Emily's talent as a storyteller and her ability to tackle complex issues with an infectious groove, making it a must-listen for those who appreciate songs that leave you thinking long after the music stops.
